In the Lab was founded in 2022 with the mission to pull more people from underrepresented backgrounds into product management.
The program started as a hypothesis that hands-on building experience would differentiate candidates applying to early career product manager jobs.
Technology teams don't reflect their users. And that's a problem.
Robust products are built by diverse technology teams. Product managers with diverse life experiences and backgrounds will create more thoughtful and successful products. Our goal at In the Lab is to level the playing field and provide training and job opportunities to create diverse product management teams.
In the Lab Product Management program and curriculum were created and vetted by product management professionals.
Emily has been doing product management work since the '00s. As a tech grad from Boston University, she was a business analyst before moving into product management roles. She's a B2B SaaS product expert, currently focused on cybersecurity, with previous roles in healthcare, health insurance, & immigration. She holds a MBA from UNC Chapel Hill.
