Ready to get In the Lab? Are you a fit for us?

This program is time and work intensive, but is the best way to get real product manager experience on your resume, outside of a PM job. Cohorts are kept small and run twice per year. Here's what we look for in our cohort members:

  • From Underrepresented Groups

    • Race and Ethnicity
    • Gender
    • LGBTQ+
  • Non-Traditional Candidates

    • Career Changers
    • Non-Tech Work History
    • Non-CS Degrees
  • Focused on Product

    • Dedicated to In the Lab
    • Self-Starters
    • Curious and Scrappy

What about students?

We get a lot of students interested in our program. Unfortunately, due to the workload of the In the Lab program, current college, graduate, or bootcamp students are not admitted to the program. You are welcome to apply for cohorts that begin after your graduation.

Our Admissions Process

Here's what you can expect for our admissions process. We try to keep the process lightweight and transparent, so you know where you stand.

  • Undraw online test re kyfx
    Apply for an upcoming cohort
  • Undraw prioritise re r5xu
    Application review for fit
  • Undraw business chat re gg4h
    30 minute interview
  • Undraw happy feeling re e76r
If the interview goes well, we'll invite you to join the next cohort!

Applications Windows for 2024

Applications for Cohort 6 are now closed.

The application takes about 5 minutes to complete. Please add as much details as you can to increase your admissions chances.

At this time, we are only working with people in the US and in US-adjacent timezones.

In the Lab costs $0 for cohort participants at this time (yes, you read that right, it is free).

Check back in late 2024 for our 2025 cohort application windows. Due to constraints on our volunteers' time, we are only running 2 cohorts per year.
